Ingolstädter Summertournament 2003

27. - 28. 09. 2003                             Ingolstadt/Germany

Schwartz, Kwasniewski, Singer, Schwed, Heigl, Hekerle, Reich, Schäfer

It´s the 4th time the TSV-Ingolstadt invite national and international sportsmen to play a tournament in Billiard Artistic. This year the sphere was more familiar than normal. The international participants were two players from Vienna, Manfred Hekerle and Günther Reich. Also on the starting list: the German players Gerd Schwartz from Merkstein, Henry Schwed from Cologne, Stefan Kwasniewski from Braunschweig, Christoph Schäfer from Saarbrücken and the two sportsmen from Ingolstadt, Bernd Singer and Franz Heigl. For the first time we played not with the traditional ivory-balls. After some small changements we played the 68-figure-program with possible 500 points.
Bernd Singer and Manfred Hekerle, the two international participants are favorized to win this tournament. But ... everybody was surprised! Günther Reich, normally only playing in Austria leads in the first part from this competition - followed by the home-match players Singer and Heigl. Manfred Hekerle who play near every weekend a tournament in Artistic perhaps have to pay tribute to this. Weekly changements from Aramith to ivory and back are perhaps not so simple. After approx. 40 figures Günther began to make smaller steps and so he gave Bernd Singer and Franz Heigl the chance to catch him. In the end of the parcours Bernd and Franz made a head-to-head competition. With fig.64 Heigl takes the lead until fig.68. Singer has to solve this difficult Massé ... and he did!
